Gospel Light Church Of God

‚ÄčAbout The Pastor

-Rev. Alan Kinlaw-

Currently an Ordained Minister with the Church of God I was Born in NC and Raised in MD- I came from a broken home, and though raised in the church and taught about Jesus Christ didn't know what it meant to be a christian.

I experienced loss, and heartbreak when my older brother passed away in 1998, and my father in 2001.  With no foundation I turned to chemical dependence in order to cover the issues I was experiencing.  Spending several years chasing highs, and living addicted to prescription medications- in 2006 after a prayer to God to heal my life and set me free, on September 7th 2006 Jesus Christ Healed me and I began the journey of following Christ.

The Bible teaches us that "Whom the Son sets free, shall be free indeed." Jesus said "Freely you have received, now freely you should give."  These two principles are what gave me the desire to follow Christ, and to share the freedom and purpose that can only be found in Him.

I am a graduate of the Ministry of Teen challenge where I was discipled and taught what it means to be a follower of Christ- How to live as a Christian and how to share the gift of Life that Christ has given me.

Following the call of God on my life, in 2013 my wife and I were lead to the Church of God where God put a desire in our heart to be Ministers, and the desire to pastor a church in Concord NH.  God has given us so many opportunities and been so good to us.  I have been the Pastor of Gospel Light since 2017- and am thankful for all God has done in GLCOG in such a short time.  We are looking forward to continuing to follow God, and serve where He leads.   Blessed to have a past, and thankful to have a future.

The Church of God- Who we are and What we believe.

We believe in the whole Bible that it is the written word of God given to us by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe:

In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.

In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.

In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
